A few months ago, President Barack Obama launched the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation, a consortium of industry, academic and non-profit  organizations with the stated goal of accelerating composites research and development. The Institute will seek to make advancedments in composites production, making composite structures faster and cheaper to produce. Recently, the US Department of Energy published an article highlighting the ways in which the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation is already spawning key partnerships and ventures within the composites industry.
